Composite video switch is an analog type A-B video switch that allows a user to connect multiple composite video sources (RCA or BNC) and switch amongst the various inputs to be displayed on a single composite display device. The two types of composite video switch include the RCA video switch and the BNC video switch. Composite RCA is typically found in home installations while composite BNC is more often used in professional configurations. The composite video switch (RCA or BNC) is available with 8 ports allowing you to connect up to 8 different composite devices. Video switch control is made available through push buttons on the front of the unit or infrared remote.
Additionally, SmartVM offers an 8 port s-video switch which is similar in functionality to the composite switch, with the exception that it utilizes the s-video type of connector. S-video switch connector, also known as Y/C video, is a 4-pin Mini-DIN and is commonly seen on VCRs, DVDs, TVs and cameras. S-video router supports NTSC, PAL or SECAM video resolutions. Control of the s-video switch is also done with infrared remote or front panel push buttons.
