USB KVM Switch

A rackmount USB KVM Switch is a hardware device designed specifically to allow a single user to control multiple USB computers via a single USB keyboard, mouse and VGA monitor (KVM). SmartVM’s rackmount USB Switch is made in a durable metal enclosure and consists of USB keyboard and mouse connections and VGA video connections and comes in 2, 4, 8 and 16-port versions.

The 16-port version is rack mountable and fits in 1U form factor. Additional models may include USB KVM Switch with Audio and Microphone. The Rack Mount KVM Switch is cascadable for control of up to 128 servers and has built in OSD and 8 character password protection. Desktop or rack mount USB Switch can support high resolution up to 1920 x 1440 as well as Native SUN resolution 1152 x 900 with a bandwidth of 200MHz. Also known as a rackmount KVM Switch PS2 USB, these units are hot pluggable and require no shutdown of computers when doing maintenance.

SmartVM’s rackmount USB KVM Switch emulates PS/2 (PS2) mouse and keyboard connections and can be controlled via on screen display (OSD), hotkeys on the keyboard or push buttons on the front of the rackmount or desktop KVM Switch USB. These USB rack mount switches support multi-platforms and are compatible with PCs, Mac, SUN Microsystems, IBM compatibles, HP, Compaq and Dell. The SmartVM 8-Port and 16-Port KVM Switch is also designed to integrate seamlessly into our 1U/2U Rackmount KVM Drawer. Other models include KVM over IP and Cat5 KVM Switch.
