A Video Screen Splitter is a device which is used to relay images from multiple sources simultaneously on a single display device. Alternatively known as a distribution amplifier, this device transmits images without data loss and it appears as though the source is directly connected to the display. Consisting of two units, a local transmitter placed next to the source and a receiver placed next to the display, this device has the capability of splitting and boosting the signals. Available in 2, 4, 8 and 16 orts, they can also be cascaded or daisy chained together to achieve a greater configuration. Amongst the various models of the screen splitter available in the market, the most common ones are the DVI Splitter, the VGA Audio video splitter, VGA Video, S-Video, Component Video, HDMI Video and Composite Video splitter. All these models are classified on the basis of the video signals that they relay.

A VGA Splitter is a signal booster and amplifier that splits the video signal from a single source, duplicates it and sends it to multiple display devices simultaneously and in real time. Due to its signal boosting and amplifying properties, the resultant images which are displayed are crisp and clear and support VGA, SVGA, UXGA, SXGA, XGA, and VGA resolutions up to 1920 x 1440 @ 60 Hz. The source is connected to the transmitter unit while the display is connected to the receiver unit of the splitter. Connections are secured using VGA cables. Number of displays that can be connected depends upon the number of ports in the VGA distribution amplifier.
Available in 2, 4, 8 and 16 ports, this device can also be cascaded for greater configurations and support a bandwidth of 350 MHz. Continue reading »

High definition video and audio can be replicated and relayed simultaneously to multiple HDMI outputs from a single source using a HDMI Splitter. A single cable connects the HDMI output device to the splitter and then to each HDTV display. Once powered on, the unit is ready to operate as it works on the principle of plug and play and does not require any additional software for operation. Since a single cable is used to transmit both audio and video, it avoids unnecessary clutter. Whereas some models are backward compatible with DVI-D, others work with HDMI or DVI-D, and HDCP-enabled HDTV’s. Compatible with devices such as Set-top boxes, DVD players, D-VHS players and play stations, these splitters work with almost all operating systems.
A type of video splitter, these HDMI units allow from 2 to 8 devices to be connected, and for larger configurations, they can be daisy chained. Continue reading »

A DVI Distribution amplifier can be used to connect more than one DVI display to a single DVI input. Up to 8 display devices can be connected to a single source. If a greater distribution is to be achieved, one can daisy chain a number of such amplifiers. The images do not go through a data loss and are as clear and crisp as the source images. These units support a resolution of 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz. This Video Splitter installation is easy and can be completed by connecting the DVI video source to the amplifier, the output of which is connected to the display. Once the unit is powered on, it is ready for use.
This DVI Splitter does not require any additional software/device drivers for operation. It supports simple plug and play functionality. This device also supports the DDWG standard for DVI compliant monitors. Various models are available such as one input, two output single link video; a one input, four output single link video; and a one input, two output dual link video signal splitter.
