    4 port video switch

A monitor switch enables multiple computers to share either one or multiple display devices with VGA ports. These devices may either be monitors or projectors. The numbers of displays which can be shared depend upon the number of ports which the switch has. It can share 2, 4 or 8 displays as the device is available in 2, 4 or 8 port versions. Rackmount options are also available for some of the larger units. For more connections, one can use the video matrix switcher which is a combination of the video splitter and switch in one unit. These devices can also be classified on the basis of the video signals they support such as HDMI switches, DVI Switches, Composite switches and CAT5 audio video switches.

    4 port dvi switch

Multiple DVI source can relay signals to a single DVI output with the help of a DVI Switch. Available in 2 and 4 port versions, it has the ability to create greater configurations by daisy chaining a number of switches. Easy to install, it works on simple plug and play functionality by connecting the sources to the input ports on the switch and the display with the output port. Connections are secured using DVI cables and once the devices are connected and powered on, they are ready to function. This device is equipped with an in built in Amplification circuitry which ensures that the signal doesn’t degrade even when extended to long distances thereby maintaining video integrity and providing clear & sharp images. This video switch makes it appear as though the display is directly connected with the source.

    DVI Matrix Switch

A Matrix switch is a device that allows video from multiple sources to be displayed on multiple displays with any combination of inputs connected to any outputs. It also allows a single input to be connected to multiple displays. Due to these features it creates a web or matrix like pattern of interconnection possibilities and hence derives its name. The resultant images however are such that it appears as though each display is directly connected with the source. The display devices can be LCD’s, projectors or CRT monitors. Available in many models which are differentiated on the basis of the signals they relay, they are classified into Component matrix switch, composite matrix, S-Video and DVI matrix switches. The models which are connected using category cables are referred to as CAT5 video matrix switches and have the ability to relay signals up to a distance of 1000 feet.

    4x4 composite matrix switch

Video from multiple sources can be routed to multiple displays with the help of a Matrix Switcher. The name of this device is derived from the ability to connect any combination of inputs with any outputs or a single input with multiple outputs creating a web like pattern of interconnection. The switches range from 2×2 to 16×16 models and some variants can also be daisy chained for achieving a greater configuration. Available in various different models depending upon the type of video signals supported, these units can be classified into VGA video switches, HDMI switches, Cat5 Video Router, Cat5 Audio-Video Switcher, S-video matrix, DVI Video matrix, Composite and Component video matrix switch. While the DVI switch is the latest model available, the most popular one is the HDMI Matrix Switch.

4 in 4 out composite audio video matrix switch

Audio and video signals from multiple sources can be directed to multiple outputs using a Video Matrix Switch. As the name indicates, it allows multiple interconnection possibilities creating a matrix like web pattern. Ranging in sizes between 2 inputs and 2 outputs to 64 inputs and 64 outs, some of these devices can also be daisy chained. Depending upon the type of video signals supported, they can be classified as a VGA video matrix switcher, VGA AV matrix, DVI matrix, HDMI matrix, component matrix, composite video matrix and Cat5 video matrix.  Available in desktop and Rackmount versions, these units are easy to install, work on simple plug and play functionality and do not require any additional software or drivers for installation.

The HDMI Matrix Switch via Cat5e/6 is the latest model available and has the ability to route HDMI video from multiple sources to multiple outputs. Since it works on the latest digital video switching technology, this device relays digital signals with zero signal loss. Supporting resolutions of 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p along with 7.1 Digital Surround Sound Audio, this switch secures connections using HDMI cables or Cat5e/6 cables. They carry video and audio signals over a single HDMI Cable or two Cat5e/6 cables thereby reducing space and eliminating clutter. Control over these devices is exercised using front panel push buttons, RS-232, Infra Red remote control, USB and/or TCP/IP.

The VGA Matrix is the most basic device in this category. A combination of a VGA splitter and switch, this device allows switching of VGA video from many sources to many outputs. Compatible with VGA devices such as computers, DVD players and LCDs, they are connected using standard VGA cables. Continue reading »

    4x2 hdmi matrix Routing switcher

Video from multiple sources can be displayed on a single display device with the help of a video switch. Available in many different models with all models varying according to the type of video signals supported, these devices have the ability to provide high resolution signals. Of the various models available, the most popular ones are the VGA, DVI Video, HDMI, Composite, Cat5 Audio Video and the video matrix switches. Latest models are also available with optional audio. Image quality and clarity is maintained and it appears as though each source is individually connected to the display device. Input ports can range between 2, 4, 8 or 16 and if more than sixteen sources need to be connected, a user can daisy chain these switches.

Also known as a video switcher, this unit works on simple plug and play functionality and does not require any additional device drivers for operation. Switching between various sources of video can be done using front panel push buttons, infra red remote control and RS232. Since switching is passive, there is no requirement of external power or batteries. Hot pluggable, a user can either add or remove the source devices without powering down the unit.  Continue reading »

     4x2 HDMI Matrix Switch

Video from multiple sources can be switched and relayed to multiple displays using a Video Matrix Switch. Some models also have the option to route audio and are referred to as A/V switches. These switches tend to create a matrix like pattern of interconnection possibilities and hence get their name. Configurations can range from 2 inputs and 2 outputs to 32 inputs and 16 outputs. For even greater configurations, these devices can be cascaded or daisy chained together. These devices are classified depending upon the type of video inputs and outputs they support. Based on this, we have the VGA Video Matrix, VGA AV Matrix, DVI Matrix, HDMI Matrix, Component Matrix, Composite Video Matrix and the Cat5 Video Matrix Switcher.

Since this device buffers every output from every input, signal integrity is maintained and it appears as though each display is directly connected to the source. Switching between the video sources is simple and can be done via push buttons in front of the unit, by infra red remote control, RS232 or through TCP/IP. There are LEDs on the front panel which indicate the status of the selected device. A key feature of this device is the elimination of the need to disconnect and reconnect the cables thereby saving time and eliminating clutter associated with multiple cables. Requiring no additional software or drivers and operating on simple plug and play functionality, the Video Matrix Switcher is available in desktop or rack mountable versions. Continue reading »
