Extenders such as VGA to CAT5 allow long range transmission of VGA signals via UTP/STP cables. Since Cat5/Cat6/Cat5e cables are used for securing the connections, the distance of transmission can range up to 950 feet away from the source device. End resolution depends upon the distance at which the display device is located. At a distance of 150 ft, the resolution is 1900 x 1200; at 300 ft it is 1600 x 1200, at 600 ft it is 1280 x 1024 and at 950 ft it is 1024 x 768 at 60 MHz.
