SmartVM Inc US, Launched New Product. This 2U rackmount DVI-D KVM Switch (DVN-16PRO) delivers a streamlined method for controlling 1-16 servers or PCs that are equipped with connections for DVI-D video, USB 1.1 & USB 2.0, RS232 and 3.5mm stereo audio.
A traditional way of monitoring multiple servers and PCs was to switch between these devices one at a time through manual operation which caused a significant expenditure of man hours and bandwidth. Another problem with a configuration that requires connecting multiple devices to and from one another is that it may get confusing with the abundance of devices involved. Depending on the setup, this could include a combination of video matrix switches, rackmount LCD keyboard drawers, KVM switches, cabling or other peripheral equipment. Ultimately, this could result in costly mistakes - even for highly skilled administrators.
